ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The Town of Waterloo, Indiana by and through its Town Council will receive sealed bids for furnishing all labor and materials for the construction of the Maple Street Improvements and the Wayne Street and Walnut Street Intersection Improvements Project until 4:00 P.M. local time on January 31, 2019 at the Waterloo Town Hall located at 280 South Wayne Street, Waterloo, IN  46793.  All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 4:15 P.M. local time on January 31, 2019 at the Waterloo Town Hall. Any bids received after the designated time will be returned unopened.

The Maple Street project predominantly consists of milling the existing pavement 1.5 inches & asphalt pavement overlay of 1.5 inches on Maple Street from Peneton Street east to 360 feet east of Washington Street.  The project also involves the construction of approximately 2,360 feet of curb and gutter, 330 feet of 5 ft. wide concrete sidewalk, and five ADA compliant curb ramps.

The Wayne Street & Walnut Street Intersection Improvements consist of pavement widening, milling the existing pavement 1.5 inches & asphalt pavement overlay of 1.5 inches, installation of curb and gutter, and construction of one ADA compliant curb ramp.

Plans, specifications, and bidding document are available electronically upon request, free of cost, at A&Z Engineering, LLC, 1220 Ruston Pass, Fort Wayne, IN 46825, Tel. (260) 485-7077.  Hard copies may be purchased from A&Z Engineering, LLC, upon receipt of fifty dollars ($50) per set, non-refundable in the form of a check made payable to A&Z Engineering, LLC.

A Pre-bid meeting will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. in the Historic Waterloo Train Station, located at 485 East VanVleek Street, Waterloo, IN  46793.

Bid proposals shall be complete and properly executed on the bid form and must be accompanied by an executed Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, confirmation that copies of Addenda were received (if issued), and satisfactory bid security.

A certified or cashier’s check payable to the Town of Waterloo, or a bid bond in the amount equal to five (5) percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid.  All checks of unsuccessful bidders shall be returned upon selection of successful bidder.  The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract amount.

In determining the lowest responsible bidder, the Waterloo Town Council will consider the Total Base Bid made for the contract.  The Waterloo Town Council may also consider all other relevant facts mentioned in the Project Documents such as experience and subcontractors.

 

The Waterloo Town Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in bidding and to award contracts in the best interest of the Town of Waterloo.
