Sewer Smoke Testing in August
The Town of Waterloo will be conducting smoke tests on the entire sanitary sewer system between August 28 – September 1. These tests will assist us in locating breaks and defects that allow rain water to enter the sewer system.
It is expensive and unnecessary for the Town to process and treat clear water so your cooperation is important to helping us identify problems and improve wastewater treatment operations. We will notify you if a break in your system is found or we may ask you to disconnect a sump pump or roof drains if the tests show these are connected to our sanitary system.
The smoke has no odor, is non-toxic, non-staining and does not create a fire hazard. Residents will receive notices on their doors with more information, or you can click on this link for details: smoke testing information
