“Friends” Collecting Historical Stories and Artifacts
Waterloo, IN – Friends of the Waterloo Depot are holding a special open house on Saturday, July 14, 2018. Working in partnership with the DeKalb County Historical Society, the Friends will be collecting stories about DeKalb County history. The depot is located at 485 W. Van Vleek Street, Waterloo.
Anyone who has stories of DeKalb History, photos or memorabilia are asked to come by the open house between 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and share your memories. Volunteers will be available to document the histories.
The groups are collecting stories about our great towns and farming life, schools, old shops, vehicles, or recipes reflecting certain eras. They are also interested in items made in DeKalb County. Whatever historical item you have, this is your chance to show your stuff!
Light refreshments will be served and visitors are invited to look at the historical displays in the train station.
